I'm not sure if that's actually the case. Local news is reporting 160 homicides in Louisville for the year. Seems to be in line with the posted rate. Louisville hasn't recovered from the 2020 crime surge yet, and it certainly wasn't Mayberry prior to that unrest.

Yes I suppose that's true. I sometimes forget that stat applies to Louisville metro and not the original city boundaries where the overwhelming majority of those homicides occur.
