This means that this black median household income is above the minimum for the area, while also having a black poverty rate only 3% over the national overall figure and is about 5% below the national black poverty rate.

Keep in mind that this zip code is a healthy 32% black non Hispanic alone, but goes up to 34.3% when including black Hispanics and is 37.1% when including those black and in combination. As also mentioned previously, the zip code has an educational attainment overall of 51.9% having at least a Bachelor's degree and 32.4% for black residents 25 and older, which for the latter is around the national percentage of 33.1% for the same time period. So, this may be an example of an underrated area in terms of looking for a section with a substantial black middle class within the region. To do the same for other zip codes, you can look up information for the zip codes posted on previous pages to get an idea of where they stand in terms of certain aspects/criteria. This is in tandem with the middle class minimums for areas in the region posted on the previous page.

15235 which covers the Penn Hills area just east of Pittsburgh appears to be another underrated area in terms of its black MHHI: $56,435, black poverty rate: 7% and black educational attainment: 33.8%. It is 40.2% black non Hispanic alone(40.4% inc. black Hispanics and 44.3% inc. those in combo). Great location. The middle school and High School are in walking distance, and the shopping plaza and cheltenham mall is within a 5 minute drive. I think using census tracts would be more appropriate, A lot of Cheltenham and in particular Wyncote, has it's "white" and "black" parts.

Census Block Group 202401-2 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania
This tract is 86% Black

Like always, appreciate your work.

Yeah, I saw this one, as well: Census Block Group 202500-1 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania

However, it has different information from this source, which is more recent census data: https://censusreporter.org/profiles/...montgomery-pa/

Both are still more black than anything else and are definitely middle class. So, there may be some margin of error with the information.

No problem and I believe a couple of other Cheltenham zip codes will have similar information for those categories.

Just came back from Boston.

Net a woman from Cleveland who has lived in Dallas Chicago NYC Philly Syracuse and Miami. She has lived in Boston fir a year and has decided to settle down in Boston because she feels it was safer than NYC CHI PHI CLE for her kids. She said it felt like a big enough city for her boys to explore but she didn’t feel she has to worry as much for her black sons as she would in NYC and Philly. She specifically said she’d never raise her kids in NYC. She said-emphatically- that she loves it in Boston.

I met her ~430 yesterday at the new Pearl Restaurant (black owned) in Dorchester.

The biggest thing I noticed was how continuously black areas south of the city have become. I drive up Washington street in Stoughton Straight into Hyde Park. At least a third of the passing motorists were visibly black. Straight from Brockton to Stoughton to Avon/Canton to Milton a very visible black suburban populace. We’ll see what August 16 releases say.

^I think there will be multiple areas of the Northeast where the loss of black residents will be exaggerated or you'll see an increase in select areas of the region.

As for zip codes, here are a couple of others. 10553 which covers the eastern(N and S) portion of Mount Vernon has a black MHHI of $75,599, a black poverty rate of 9.5%, a black educational attainment percentage of 31.6% and is 86.1% black non Hispanic(88.8% inc. black Hispanics and 90.1% inc. those in combo). Street views: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.9147...7i13312!8i6656

https://www.google.com/maps/@40.9100...7i16384!8i8192

This is by far the one of the blackest "well rounded" middle class zip codes in the Northeast and dare I say, that might be the case even if you include the Baltimore and DC areas.

Another such zip code is 11411 which covers Cambria Heights in SE Queens, which has a black MHHI of $101,047, a black poverty rate of 4%, a black educational attainment percentage of 35.1% and is 90.9% black non Hispanic(92.8% inc. black Hispanics and 94.2% inc. those in combo). Street views: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.6929...7i16384!8i8192

https://www.google.com/maps/@40.6899...7i16384!8i8192

https://www.google.com/maps/@40.6974...7i16384!8i8192

I'll stop there and do some more later. While this is another thread, I'm curious as to how many other zip codes can offer the middle class incomes, around national percentages and up in educational attainment, low(er) poverty rate and that high of a black percentage anywhere in the country like these 2 zip codes.
