What higher standard. The guy [Brown] was a thug who robbed a store, beat up an officer in his squad car so bad he was examined for a possible skull fracture, tried to take the officer's gun [which is what escalated it to a whole new level], and continued to resist arrest and threaten the officer. If I was Darren Wilson I would have fired as well. I am pretty sure most police officers would have as well. Brown had countless opportunities to end it by freezing and putting his hands up.

You think Mike Brown could have and would have killed him with his bare hands? How far fetched.

Darren Wilson is 6'4, 210.

Brown was also 6'4 and 292#. He already beat the officer pretty bad and had his hands on the gun (which caused it to jam the first few attempted shots).

CPD Officer Richard Francis was killed with his own weapon after he was overpowered by a 45-year-old woman.

No reasonable person would consider it even remotely implausible that a 300-pound teenager could overpower someone he outweighs by some 80 pounds.

I don't know why so many downplay the size difference. In boxing, wrestling, football, etc, a 60-80 pound difference is a huge deal. Being afraid of Brown's size is the only part of Wilson's story that sounds like the truth.

*Sigh* Now the latest chapter in this Three Ring Circus is Brown's mother telling CBS This Morning that Wilson wanted to kill somebody that day and just happened to pick her son. It's difficult to begrudge an angry and grieving mother but that's still a sh*#ty thing to say. Where are her handlers that rushed to her side and why are they letting her talk like this? And honestly, shame on the media for sticking a microphone in this obviously anguished woman's face and giving her a platform to say these terrible things to a national audience.

And that is what it comes down to. I hope a civil suit is filed and I hope it goes up to the Supreme Court. Maybe then the agenda-pushing and sensationalism will subside. I'm just not sure such a suit would pass constitutional muster.

Per the medical report, he didn't even have any bruises from the encounter, and Brown was subsequently killed 130 feet from the car where whatever the physical altercation was, took place.

He had a red mark on his cheek that the doctor didn't even classify as a bruise. So, yeah, totally agreed that any physical altercation with a cop, not a good idea. But its bizarre how so many take Wilsons story to be completely true, when Black Hulk Hogan failed to even leave a bruise with these alleged powerful punches.
