Yeah, I think it's normal to be tired of being cold, wet and sunless in winter and want a break from it. Around WA it's a badge of honor to love the gloom, but I hear locals complaining too. It's called being human.

Most older homes in this area are kind of damp and hard to get warm in, so winter isn't that cozy. Same with summer- no ac for most places. The houses are truly comfortable only in a very moderate outdoor temp. range and most don't have efficient cooling or heating for extremes.

Today was mostly cloudy with some light rain on and off. We had a beautiful burst of sunlight right before sunset with a nice rainbow. It was a great way to close out the week. Here are a few pics from our neighborhood.

We've had solid gray skies and rain up here (no sun to be seen) but that's typical for March. Today is wet wet wet...puddles, daffodils in bloom, frogs singing, yellow skunk cabbage in the low areas. It couldn't get more typically March than this.

I love March as winter fades into spring and provides these windows of light and beauty. All the flowering trees are blooming and sparkling in the sun between rains. Even during the rains they brighten the day with colors. Today we a mixture of rain, clouds, sun and warming spring temps. Love it!

We had rain again today in Vancouver with some breaks and nice sun again towards the late afternoon. It was an enjoyable surprise as always this time of year. We can also see the full moon tonight which is really cool. Our local community college has cherry trees in full bloom which makes for a fun place to enjoy spring.

The rains continue with mild temps in the mid-50s and light winds. Almost every evening has including sunbreaks toward sunset in Vancouver. Here's a few pics from today between rain bands.

We're well past the cherry blossom peak, but the rain has been gentle and it's been more sunny than cloudy the past few days. This weekend is looking like a repeat of two weeks ago with nonstop sunshine and warmer temps. Bring it on!

It's been great hiking weather. Occasional rain, then some short sunbreaks and 40s to low 50s. The trails are still fairly empty due to the on and off rain which makes it pleasant and there's plenty of space in the parking lots. This will change when the sun comes out.

In & out sunshine, plus sun showers. I started some tomato seedlings inside. Hurry, summer!
