Funny from the Oregon Life today. Welcome to spring. I think many can relate.

So true, Mtnsurfer!

And on another topic, Cliff Mass has a good article on why temps vary so much throughout WA:

Just spent a week in your city. The weather was amazing!!!! Hearing the locals talk about the sun being out was one of our highlights.
They were downright giddy about it.
Thank you Seattle for a fabulous week!!!

Glad you enjoyed it and caught some of the PNW beauty we enjoy. When the sun comes out, it's one of the most beautiful states to explore. You may have caught some of the cherry blossoms which are just starting to bloom in Seattle. The cherry blossom festival is actually just kickin' off and fun to see at UW's campus. The beauty of spring with continue from lower elevations all the way through July up into the mountains.

Here's a few shots from today which reached 75 again in Vancouver. We enjoyed a triple mountain view day from the WSU Vancouver campus. It was very clear out. Still hard to believe this is winter.

It's another sunny & clear day on the OP. I don't think the weather has been like this in all the time I've lived here. I remember mid-March as gloomy, cool & rainy.

It's never been like this before in mid-March. This is a first.

The past few days have been so lovely. Endless sunshine, mid 60s-70s and our cherry blossom trees are about to peak if they haven't done so already. I'm fine with another streak of rain because the mountains need the snowpack...

Yes, this has been an epic end of winter that is part of the mystique of the PNW showing its raw beauty after the storms. I've been out the past couple of days soaking it all in enjoying this place we call home. A few recent pics including tonight on the water and sunrise yesterday with cherry blossoms in full bloom.

Woke up this morning and thought I was buried in an avalanche. Where'd the sun go? But just so you folks here understand how mercurial I am, I'll be wishing for winter in July when the temp is over 80. So get used to my complaining - it's never ending on my end. LOL

But I did manage to get 20 sacks of soil up here, got the old soil spread out and opened 5 new bags today. That's about my limit. I usually need two layers of soil for any planting and these next 15 bags will be the 2nd layer. After that I have to open some bark and spread that around. Maybe then I can plant those poor irises that should have been planted last fall. By my reckoning, the way I'm going at the moment, I expect to plant the irises in May.

^^Hey, no worries. If I'm not complaining about The Dead of Winter & dreaming of Yuma in around January, it means I finally kicked the bucket.

Report back about your irises, please. I haven't had any luck with them.
