Yes, some of all that. I've always had animals, so I've never been a fan...

It is allowed here, by ordinance, on the 3rd and the 4th until 11:00. But it's really hard to enforce at other times anyway, so we hear it sporadically for a couple weeks, as people mysteriously find a little more they forgot to light on the 4th.

We've had fireworks all week in private yard shows. Since the reservation is nearby, people shoot off the big fireworks they buy there.

Fireworks are only legal on the fourth, but this is a big conservative area where everyone wants their freedoms to do whatever they want and this is part of that. But when they start their shed or house on fire, they are happy to have the tax payer supported fire department put it out!

Weather-wise it's been nice all afternoon! Here's a shot of our eagle trees with the whole family visible!.... parents over on the roost, eaglets sitting in the nest.

Happy Independence Day, everyone.

Nice here in Vancouver as well. Not too hot with sunny skies. Spent the morning gardening and the afternoon hiking one of our favorite local red cedar forests. Skies will be clear tonight for firework viewing.

Today was great because we finally got some early morning rain! We haven't seen any rain since summer began. Hopefully, this wont be the last time. It was nice a cool today - upper 60s. I love it!

Next week things heat back up in a big way jumping back into the 90s in Vancouver. Yuck! Last heatwave fried some of our new plants in the garden.

We'll be taking a trip to San Diego where its forecasted to be in the 70s all week. That's perfect beach weather for us - not too hot or cold. It's kinda funny to go that far south and have it cool down compared to SWW. While the *sameness* of the weather down south can get old after a while, you can see why some people flock to it. SD is pretty much 60s-70s all year, at least along the coast.

We had a little bit of rain yesterday a couple neighbors had quite a gully washer come through! We didn’t get that much but some. Today is beautiful we are sitting out watching our eagle nest to see if we can capture the eaglets doing some more branching :-)

So far they’re just doing a lot of sitting around watching us watching them!

We've had a mix of rainy days and some mixed clouds and sun. Today was a perfect temp. Felt like 70 degrees but I didn't check the thermometer. It cooled down so now it's sweatshirt weather. Perfect for any outdoor activities. If it was like this all year, this would be paradise.

The only issue is we've had a ton of mosquitos. More than I've ever experienced here.

Another nice day watching the Eagle nest… If you zoom in on this you can see one parent on the left roost tree, the other parent below the nest and one of the eaglets looking out in the nest :-)

Oh and you can also see the nice weather :-)

Hubby hasn’t processed the close-ups from the good camera yet… So just iPhone ….

Yes, today was very nice on the lake. Its one of my favorite times of the year when the water lilies are all in bloom.

We visited Vancouver (and Portland) from Tuesday through yesterday. For the parts we were in, it was overcast the entire day on the 5th and 6th. :/ Our last full day, the 7th, was perfect with sun and warmth. Lots of clouds, but not the kind that get in the way of the warmth and sunshine. We were only here for half of the 8th, and were indoors for most of it, but we had a nice, warm, sunny hike at Whipple Creek Regional Park. We're supposed to be back for Thanksgiving week, but that'll be a totally different story, weather-wise.

Of course, now the forecast shows nothing but sunshine.
