I am really curious how hot my area will be.
When we had that last big heatwave we were at mid to upper 80’s with no air conditioning .
No bueno at all.
I will find out tomorrow afternoon.
Can’t wait to get home.

Nice marine layer of overcast.
Dry decks with no drizzle..
Feels really good out side.
The lawn and plants on the other hand need work from a couple of weeks of neglect.

We started out with marine layer and even *fog* earlier. Clear and sunny now though.

Eaglets are fledging and flying around, venturing further from home and out of sight at times, though seldom out of earshot yet, they scream nearly nonstop, it's really something to be around, here these past few days. It was loud with just one eaglet last year, it's twice as much with two!

I can't upload the videos with sound here, but I can link to their page:

Beautiful day on the lake this morning in Vancouver. To my surprise, after getting back from travel, the water lilies are still in bloom! It started out cloudy, so the lilies were just started to open up. This is best time to go before the heat and hung over boaters hit the water.

Yes, I'd never seen any like them until moving here. They were a nice surprise addition to our local lake.

They are so cool. I've only seen the yellow water lilies up here. I loved boating through the white ones like those when I lived in the Midwest. Magical.

It topped out at 80 degrees but feels cooler with the breeze. Not humid, nothing to complain about. Blue skies and pleasant summer weather. It will cool down into the 50s tonight.

Vancouver is definitely experiencing a heatwave this week. Today reached the upper 90s and tomorrow may reach triple digits. Yuck! So, those of you in the cooler parts of WA are very fortunate this time of the year. We have family in town and they headed to the Oregon coast where its in the low 70s and perfect there right now.

That said, our kids went out in the earlier part of the day and enjoyed a hike to a waterfall while it was still relatively cool. It stays below 80 until noon. So, mornings are still nice. By the afternoon, forget about it! You really don't want to be outside unless closer to sunset like now when it drops into the 80s. I'm not a heat lover or sun worshiper. So, I'm already looking forward to fall with cooling temps and rain again. We just returned from San Diego and Monterey where I got all the sun I need for the summer. I'm thankful for more trees in the PNW where we can also hide from direct scorching heat.

I could post some more eaglet pictures but they look like yesterdays!

Instead I'll post the forecast from our weather station.... It's gonna be hot the next few days!
