There was a man dressed as a woman giving one of the eulogies but the Church seems ok with that concept and wouldn't ban a transgender person from entering. The problem happened when the funeral got a lot of media coverage as if St. Patrick's Cathedral was promoting transgender activism so they condemned it in statements.
Am not believing a word of it regarding deception either.

Cardinal Dolan has been very pro LGBT on many issues for decades now.

His Eminence leaned hard on the Hibernians forcing them to drop their ban on LGBT marching in St. Patrick's day parade under their own banner. Several parishes under Dolan's jurisdiction such as St. Francis Xavier in Chelsea, Church of St. Paul the Apostle, in midtown and St. Ignatius Loyola on the Upper East Side among others are openly pro LGBT.

Now knew what and when they knew it likely are questions that never will get a straight answer.

For now there is enough furore that the Church obviously feels it must act.

When you consider the Church has allowed funerals for Mafia types (including full masses) who in their lifetimes killed, were whoremasters, and otherwise pretty much repeatedly committed mortal sins, one for a trans seems like small beer.

All the priests, bishops, and the pope wear long dresses, so what's the big deal?

Lets not call things what they aren’t. What’s next? The trench coats are dresses too?

They should have held their funeral in a mosque.

The results of that getting out to their members would have been a hoot.

Don't forget theWest Side Bugsy.

It's one thing for a guy to commit crime for some beer nuts.
It's another for a guy who thinks he's a gal to be committed because their just plain nuts.

Me thinks? I'm old school...........

Clergy:
The " Long Dresses" are clerical vestments worn to erase personality from the person
and direct focus and attention to God.

Different from

Trans Activist.
Draw attention by dressing up to gain visibility and having to guess how to address without offending.

Transgender religion is the epitome of a compelled belief system, a disguised modern version of the early days of Islam's adoption under duress.

Catholicism does not force it's beliefs on anyone.

P.S. I am a female homosexual atheist but even I have a dog in this fight.
Because transgenderism is, at the core, misogyny and homophobia in drag.
And it ain't funny.

I would never show up to a mosque with a plate full of bacon.
Even though it’s “2024”, it’s still disrespectful.
