No I’d never thought about or questioned that one before.
The first 2 people created were supposedly already adults.
So their depictions and drawings are not really that surprising.
But it’s a chicken or egg type argument, and the story itself is figurative and not literal imo.
No old biblical pictures survive after 2,000 years. All of the pictures you see are an artist's representation of how they imagine the subjects appeared. If all the human bodies you see have belly buttons, you paint a belly button. It's that simple.
I mean...you think that's the ONLY conceivable issue with the various pics people paint of Adam and Eve? Doesn't bother you that it's usually a couple of blonde people with blue eyes?
More so, it's the 2nd commandment violation. Do not create an idol for yourself. ALL of those pictures, etc, are idolatry and Christianity is the only one out of the three Abrahamic religions that permits it.
But, yes, as said before - dumb artists and poor church censorship, considering that, in younger ages, every religious art was to be approved by church.
2. Ascending Material Sons
40:2.1 (444.1) The Material Sons of God are created in the local universe along with the Melchizedeks and their associates, who are all classified as descending Sons. And indeed, the Planetary Adams—the Material Sons and Daughters of the evolutionary worlds—are descending Sons, coming down to the inhabited worlds from their spheres of origin, the capitals of the local systems.
40:2.2 (444.2) When such an Adam and Eve are wholly successful in their joint planetary mission as biologic uplifters, they share the destiny of the inhabitants of their world. When such a world is settled in the advanced stages of light and life, this faithful Material Son and Daughter are permitted to resign all planetary administrative duties, and after being thus liberated from the descending adventure, they are permitted to register themselves as perfected Material Sons on the records of the local universe.
74:0.1 (828.1) ADAM AND EVE arrived on Urantia, from the year a.d. 1934, 37,848 years ago. It was in midseason when the Garden was in the height of bloom that they arrived. At high noon and unannounced, the two seraphic transports, accompanied by the Jerusem personnel intrusted with the transportation of the biologic uplifters to Urantia, settled slowly to the surface of the revolving planet in the vicinity of the temple of the Universal Father. All the work of rematerializing the bodies of Adam and Eve was carried on within the precincts of this newly created shrine. And from the time of their arrival ten days passed before they were re-created in dual human form for presentation as the world’s new rulers.
Interesting, and something of a chuckle for me as I have never questioned or even thought about this before, but there is lots of this kind of thing I stopped bothering to question a good long time ago. Why? Because I know no matter how incongruent, contrary to all evidence, backward, historically inaccurate, impossible or just plain wrong, there are always people who will explain away any reasonable critical thinking to suit their belief(s). People who can and will always find a way to explain these sorts of "curiousities" in what they consider a convincing manner no matter how unconvincing to the objective unbiased observer.
Might want to question the whole story of Adam in the first place before getting to his belly-button after all. That's plenty story enough to ponder enough all considered. I mean really...
