I live right on the Redwood River in Marshall . . . I hope my house isn't underwater when this horrible winter finally does end.

Possibly . . . the drive isn't too far. I still don't know what my ultimate goal is, I'm just working and saving money right now. I do know I like Marshall more than anywhere else I've lived in Minnesota. I love living on the Plains.

That's cool

There's nothing like driving west as the sun sets driving over a slowly rolling country road and seeing the golds and greens

The diversion channel around town helps quite a bit with the flooding there. Last time there was major flooding in Marshall in '93 the area across from the middle school flooded and the area out on North Bruce flooded--they are both now full of new houses so who knows what will happen if they flood again. In 93 those areas were still corn fields. The Weather Channel even showed people canoeing out on North Bruce.

The river in town never flooded that year.

What do you think of the wind farms?

the wind farms are nice to look at when I drive by them anyway, but I know some people on Buffalo Ridge are against them (noise and aesthetics). Large wind farms seem to be poping up all over northern Iowa as well in the last decade, so its not just SW Minnesota anymore.

Back on topic, guess what, more snow on Tuesday and Wednesday! I remember last march when all the storms were passing south of us and places like Missouri and Oklahoma were getting snow until April. That was nice

Love 'em. Here's a shot of them I took a few weeks ago (during the "warm snap")

I like 'em too. With a few hundred-thousand more installed on a strategic spot of the Earth, they may save us from the impending destruction of a meteor that is heading our way right now. Start them all at once in reverse and putt-putt-putt, off we go to a safer tomorrow.
