Not at all surprising. In a mid-continental climate such as that of the Twin Cities, deviations from the average tend to be larger than in other climates.

For example, the current forecast for Minneapolis for tomorrow, March 2, is for a high of 18F with a low of 4F, per weather.com. That high is 16 degrees colder than the average of 34F. Conversely, on February 16 of this year the high was 52F while the normal high for that date is 29F, a difference of 23 degrees.

And that forecast future and temperature past do not even approach records - the record low for March 2 is is -17F while the record high for February 16 is 60F.

Winter is a wussy and if he were here right now I'd tell it to his face.

-27 windchill this morning. Some "March." I can't believe we're moving into Spring and it's still below zero. Last March was beautiful - zero snow, above freezing -- awesome.

Snow removal contractor just called me and said their weather service is calling for another foot of snow for the Twin Cities this coming Monday. Lots of time left to top 94" and break the snowfall record!

There is light at the end of the tunnel (I think)! After next weeks snow storm, temps are supposed to rebound back close to normal later in the week. Perhaps our past due spring thaw.

This link updates the 15 day forecast at least a few times a day. It can change drastically from day to day, so take it with a grain of salt, but it keeps upping the temps toward the end of the forecast (knock on wood).
Test

I am just getting really nervous about the forecasted flooding down here. We have a TON of snow on the ground in SW Minnesota.

25F and mostly cloudy right now.
