Lets be cool like the Alaskans and start our own weather thread. Post anything about Minnesota weather.

It is currently 2F above here. Finally above zero! Waiting for the big warm up this weekend.

My stepson is embarrassed to wear a parka in the winter. He prefers to look - and be - cool.

Pretty common here too, burrrr.

Hopefully we get a nice, gradual melt so the 8 foot high snowbanks in our yard don't end up in our basement

ok, great idea. hows this?...

I'm sick of those lower-lower 48s comin' up here to Minnesota and being unprepared for our climate and what can kill ya.

Just the other day I watched as some idgit was trying to get access to the skyway in downtown Minneapolis by standing in the middle of Nicollet Mall and trying to jump up into the skyway above him. This went on for about 20 seconds or so until an MTC Bus came along and ran him over.

I'm so ready for spring. This frigid cold is killing me! Supposedly we're getting our spring thaw this weekend. Hopefully this March will be a repeat of last year - warm weather and no snow.

We are 39 days (March 20th) from the 1st day of spring. The day after, Minneapolis' avg high temp hits 40 degrees for the 1st time since November 15th. Maybe that Groundhog Dude is onto something, couldn't we reach down in his hole and drag that little guy up to the surface a bit earlier next year?

All forecast are showing a nice warm up starting tomorrow! At least the teen tomorrow will feel nice compared to the earlier part of this week. The long range forecast is even better with 30's and 40's all week next week.
I'm gonna take a nice stroll tonight and enjoy what may be our last sub-zero night of the winter . At least the wind chills are a lot better tonight.

Let the snow melt of 2011 begin!

unusually warm period coming the next week or so for those in Western MN and where I'm at. I don't remember ever seeing a stretch of mid 30's in Feb before. More like eastern WI weather.

Must not have been around MN for that long. I have golfed, in shorts, in MN in Feb. About 6-7 years ago we had a stretch of 60's toward the end of Feb where several smaller golf courses opened for a few days . Last winter the end of Feb was very nice and by the second week of March or so, most golf courses in the southern part of the state were open for business.
