Please describe which DEI programs helped elevate Florida's universities on the US News rankings, and/or describe how the loss of these programs will harm Florida's standing on those rankings.

I always thought the race, etc based admissions to an institution were the height of condescension to the individuals who fell into these categories. As though they were incapable of meeting the requirements on their own efforts and merits.

Oh, and the 9 public universities are each state run, not run by " white evangelicals". You'd know that if you had any familiarity with the Florida state university system.
The problem is that these public institutions have a history of race based admissions whose legacies still benefit from their segregated enrollments of the past. That seems to be ok with you.

Please provide specific examples and cite your sources. Thank you.

Oh, and since you know nothing about me, you don't get to say what is ok with me and what isn't.

We must maintain our great school system in Florida. https://www.usnews.com/news/best-sta...ings/education

Limiting social activism inside our taxpayer supported schools is just common sense. Here's an overview of the law. https://www.flgov.com/2022/04/22/gov...ndoctrination/

I made no mention of a benefit to DEI but Florida's war on those who think differently is having its toll.

"Experts say the Sunshine State's lauded education system – No. 1 in the U.S. News Best States rankings – faces an urgent threat: Gov. Ron DeSantis."
https://www.usnews.com/news/best-sta...ucation-system

"School districts in Northeast Florida lost 1,134 teachers at the end of the last school year. That makes up about 16 percent of the vacancies across the state – totaling 7,000." https://www.firstcoastnews.com/artic...ling%207%2C000.

"Florida teacher shortage one of the worst in the country as new school year starts" https://www.fox13news.com/news/flori...is-school-year

"Florida teachers are leaving the state and their profession. They blame unrealistic workloads, restrictive laws and stagnant pay." https://www.wusf.org/education/2023-...lorida-anymore

Ron DeSantis’s war on “wokeness” has thrust educators into a legal minefield, pushing many to leave the profession entirely. One union leader says it’s all part of a GOP agenda to eradicate public schools: “This is just a part of their playbook.” "https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2023/05/florida-education-brain-drain-hitting-schools-hard"

"Teachers say they’re feeling more disrespected, unappreciated and under attack than ever before by new laws championed by Governor Ron DeSantis" https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...w-ron-desantis

"In the face of unprecedented political interference, Florida’s public universities have no right to be accredited, Brian Rosenberg writes." https://www.insidehighered.com/views...tation-opinion

If you don't think removal of course, literature and free thought will not affect how a school is critiqued then show me examples how the Governors policies have improved the credibility of his states public education.

Reading posters on this board express their opinions it is the first time I have seen parents upset that their kids went to college and came back thinking for themselves. It almost seems like a shock to them that their kids don't maintain their ideological views and it must be because of "indoctrination". They can't accept that when given a choice to think for themselves they choose views that differ from the parents........shocking!

Teacher shortages is a national issue. For instance VA has a 3.9% shortage of teachers and in Florida it's approximately 2.4 % of teaching positions, around 1.2 open positions per school on average.

Governor Ron DeSantis approves record Increase in teacher pay and signs the nation’s most comprehensive package of Legislation to Support Teachers, so it seems Florida is actually doing something to address the issues at hand. Is it perfect and has it made up for past shortfalls? no, but it's progress with a capital P.

DEI programs do not improve education.

If you are a non-racist educator in Florida, you'll feel appreciated, & encourage to stay.

If you are a racist purveyor of DEI, you will feel alienated, & underappreciated.

Florida proved you don't have to be the highest paying State to have good education. Our cost-of-living is near the midpoint nationally, & our taxes are much lower than elsewhere. Thus, we don't need to pay educators $120k/yr. like they do up East.

Gov DeSantis raised entry-level Teacher salaries, which helps FLA with the nationwide Teacher shortage. FLA was 26th highest, & is now 9th:

https://www.flgov.com/2022/03/21/gov...Ron%20DeSantis.

Most FLA residents are pleased w/ Gov. DeSantis, & we won't tolerate anyone trying to California our Florida!

If Liberal states want to teach reverse racism...go for it. They should also teach what Democrats did to the Native Americans...rounded them up and put them on reservations during the "Trail of Tears"...not a Republican in sight.

Democrats also rounded up Japanese during WW2 & put them in camps...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intern...0the%20country.

Democrat Margaret Sanger started Planned Parenthood to promote Eugenics to control populations of what they saw as undesireables...like Blacks.

If you are going to teach DEI...I hope they are teaching how racist Democrats have been through history, & how Republicans ended Slavery.
