It’s the other way around, black athletes basically finance every almost every major Power 5 football school and especially SEC universities due to the revenue the sports they participates in generates in the form of television deals, ticket sales, bowl game appearances, merchandise etc.

These universities football programs are what butters the bread of these universities and subsidizes it loss leader sports, especially ANY women’s sports. The revenue it generates is also the source of many academic scholarships.

These young black athletes bodies provides MILLIONS of dollars to these Universities and they in the past received nothing from it except a scholarship for a degree that may or may not lead to successful career if they don’t make it to the pros(most don’t make it)…thankfully with the NCAA NIL that has started to change.

These young black athletes would be far better served heading straight to the professional ranks, but we all know whose bottom line that would affect so they make that not possible to in Football & Basketball - both sports where black athletes happen to be overrepresented.

Does one need to attend a high profile/Power 5 Conference school to go pro in Baseball? Golf? Tennis? The answer is no.

Wrong, the billions brought in are because of the customers aka fans that watch the games, attend games etc. And the college fans are overwhelmingly white.

Yes, it is a major part of U.S. history. That does not make it a basis for hiring.

You can't forget what made DEI necessary in the first place. It hasn't entirely gone away.
Just the opposite. It's mass discrimination against whites, primarily heterosexual.

equity means recognizing that we do not all start from the same place and must acknowledge and make adjustments to imbalances.
I'll extend your idea further. See Diversity the Prisons, Make Them Look More Like the U.S.!

"the university is closing its “Office of the Chief Diversity Officer,” eliminating “DEI positions and administrative appointments,” and halting “DEI-focused contracts with outside vendors” in order to comply with the Florida Board of Governance’s regulation regarding prohibited expenditures."

1. America functions best as a meritocracy, and that includes academia.

2. Colleges and universities have become too pricey, so it's time the cut out the nonsense... like this diversity promoting garbage.

BTW I applaud Florida for staffing extra police and adding state police to keep the Spring Breakers in line.

That should be taught. Moreover teach that blacks in the USA also owned slaves, even white ones. You can teach that the majority of whites coming the the Colonies for at least the first 150 years sold themselves into indentured servitude to get here. You can teach that there was mass discrimination against most Euro immigrant groups to the USA. You can teach Black tribes were the biggest slave traders in history. You can teach that the native americans enslaved other native americans. You can teach that after slavery was illegal native tribes, in Florida, were allowed to keep their black slaves. You can teach Irish labor = death while black slaves survived because a slave owner had to be compensated if that owner contracted them out for labor and they died. 20K Irish died building canal in New Orleans.
Mass grave of Irish diggers stirs quarrel

So because you, a white person hasn’t seen discrimination in your little tiny, homogeneous A.K.A. majority white area means racial discrimination doesn’t exist in the entire state of Florida, the third largest state by population?

Is that really your argument?

Hey David Duke is back! Glad the WiFi is up and running again in your single wide!

In a capitalist society, a product that sells is what get the major dollars thrown at it with the expectation of a high ROI (no different than a highly anticipated film earning triple its production cost in profit). In this case that would be COLLGE FOOTBALL which BLACK players comprise most of the skilled positions…simple supply and demand…so no duh it’s from fans - what point are you trying to make exactly? Everyone knows that captain obvious.

They certainly aren’t there to see flabby couch potatoes - You seem angry at these facts, do you fit this description? Lol

Let me guess you were one of those “Boycott the NFL” guys? Sorry big profitable businesses don’t care about your feelings

The real question is why were HBCUs necessary to begin with? Was it because whites wouldn’t allow blacks at their institutions of higher education so they had to rely on land grants during the Reconstruction period to build their own facilities? Those evil blacks I tell ya

Purely for educational purposes and my own curiosity, but what is your highest level of completed education?

Ann Elizabeth Fortune in Philadelphia was another black woman slave trader and made her fortunes in the trade
