America is cheap compared to Canada. Australia is more expensive than Canada.

I can't believe he thinks £2000 is expensive!!

The flight for one person is at least £500!

So why did you say a family of four could go there for two weeks for about £2000 when that clearly isn't true?

Well its not for an adult with a job really. If you look up Emirates its like £4,000 for a business suite.

Hes going on like we spent like £50,000 and travel in business.

But 2000 GBP is very unrealistic, isn't it? I will most likely visit the US in March 2015 for two weeks (my first trip outside Europe, yeah ) and the all-in cost will be around €2200 /1800 GBP for one person. You can do it probably a bit cheaper but not by much if you want to see something.

How would you know what being an adult with a job is like?

Eating out, buying souvenirs, clothes, attending shows, etc. quickly adds up even if you get a good deal on hotel/flight package.
