2000 pounds = $4800, for a family of four, 2 weeks accommodation for 4 people, transfers and return flights for 4 people plus food, outings and other expenses. You live in a fantasy land little boy.
America is cheap compared to Canada. Australia is more expensive than Canada.
But 2000 GBP is very unrealistic, isn't it? I will most likely visit the US in March 2015 for two weeks (my first trip outside Europe, yeah ) and the all-in cost will be around €2200 /1800 GBP for one person. You can do it probably a bit cheaper but not by much if you want to see something.
