It comes up from Europe to them..

My thunderstorms are locally generated and happen in July etc. Europe is too far away to be affected.

We got lucky. The area of precipitation (which was very small anyway) intensified above, and then lightning followed. Only East Leeds though.

Uh, no, thunderstorms from the continent do not reach here usually - we're too far north. This one was 'locally generated'.
