oh so you aren't finished then. I am finished school this year and then I am not sure what i'm for doing.
I got some good news today! I don't have to goto another school to do Business. My headmaster told me that I had to go on my own to another school to learn that subject and tbh I was very worried about it! But he has told me today that I don't have to go down to that school. So I am very happy about that.
I'm sure I'll go back eventually for more credits, another degree, or a graduate degree but I need to find a job and start making money. Love my parents, but I need to get out of here.
I took three vacations this year including two foreign. I didn't go anywhere for almost four years and this year was the first time I left the US (Canada and the Netherlands).
Well I went to Spain this year as you know but last year I don't think I went anywhere as that was the year that my dad bought the plane. It is probably cheap for you because you are on your own. I could goto america and stuff myself but I just wouldn't do that.
Of course this summer coming up I will have to get a big massive 7 to 8 week holiday. There is absolutely nothing to do in Northern Ireland during the summer at all! So of course I will be heading to South Florida. (well hopefully anyway)
Wow just goes to show how different the US is from other countries as far as attitudes towards vacations go. On average, most people don't go away for more than 1-2 weeks at a time. Total for the year is usually a little more, but that's spread out. Depends on the company/job though.

Yikes, you're planning to go to South Florida in the summer? Better be ready for some serious heat and humidity - whew! Of course, if you like bathtub-warm water in the ocean, then it might just be the ticket for you.
Please do note, while South Florida has an awesome nightlife scene, you'll not have access to it, as you have to be age 21 to drink, or even be admitted to the clubs, and yes, they are super-anal about that crap. :/
Also, how will you get around while in the USA? Our intercity bus and rail service sucks, planes are very costly if you do one-way fights, and even getting around within the cities is iffy using public transport. Much better to rent a car and use that to travel around in - it'd be cheaper and far more convenient. Also, I'd advise hitting some of our awesome national parks, like the Smokies (along with the majestic Blue Ridge Parkway) if staying in the East, and Yellowstone, Grand Canyon and Yosemite if you're out West. New York City and Washington are a must as well - hard to beat the Smithsonian in DC, and it's free too.
I don't think Mac15 has a license yet. In any case renting a car is difficult if you're under 21 for insurance purposes. I had trouble under 25. Many places won't sell car insurance to you with the car, you have to have some insurance. Since I didn't own a car, I had no insurance. But I was renting a car because I didn't own a car.
They get more vacation time in Europe, but I think Mac15 is referring to school vacation.
Yeah it's mandated over there.
If you get a decent job here, you can still accrue a respectable amount of vacation time. People are just hesitant to use it for various reasons. Sad, but true.
