So far this February not at all the pattern I thought it would be. An insane negative PNA and a super resilient Southeast Ridge

I didn't realize Europe was that far below normal the last 2 weeks

Geez look at Siberia

Don't the cool season grasses stay green there in winter anyway?

Oh I like to see those purples in Italy, Spain and Med France. I hope it fried some palm trees there. Bout time those Euro's got a taste of what we have been dealing with. Now if only England would get a 1963 winter again I would be really happy.

Wanna bet that purple in Siberia ruins our Spring George?? Just wait. Whenever Feb is a bust, March takes it place. Only good thing about that is that it prevents early budding of good fruit trees which I would rather have than a super warm March then a cold April.

I question the accuracy of these maps, atleast the Europe one.

I'm not sure. Modoki El Nino Springs are usually not warm here. But Bastardi is showing these analogs.

Yeah same, I checked Geneva's and Vienna's history and so far this month (at the airport stations) and they were a bit above average. Not sure what those maps are supposed to be measuring, but sure as hell there's no -10 C anomaly anywhere near those places. Pretty sure such an anomaly is not even possible in those western european cities.

Similarly, I checked Yakutsk, Oymyakon, Verkhoyansk and the anomalies are from -1 to +3 C so that map... seems to be on crack.

It was 15°C at the Cairngorm Summit today and it's currently 12.8°C making it the warmest place in the UK!

73F after low of 55F in Austin. We're warmer than Los Angeles, Phoenix, and New Orleans today. Dallas and Houston are warmer as is Miami. Tomorrow we will surpass them as well.
