6:50-10:50am loop. Watch Philly go from Ice to Rain. Watch Newark go from Snow to Sleet. The change is coming.

11am. 0.5" snow melted to 0.05" liquid. 10:1 ratios. Another 1/2" and its the biggest since November!! Hurry up before it changes over!

Truly a relief to see icicles melting and the branches of the white pines lifting upward to their normal positions as the melt continues; ditto for the electric wires as they return from their sagging positions.

**** snow and ice and the horses they rode in on.

On left 5000' temps. On Right 2500' temps. Still a thicker layer of cold from surface to about 3000'. Hence the Sleet/Ice still falling. Even though not above freezing at 5000' warmer winds being mixed with the Pacific moisture.

1:05pm Radar and Metars. Long Island showing switching from sleet and snow but mostly sleet falling.

Arrows indicate direction of winds at 5000'. Red = 40mph+. Warm air filtering in.

Definitely cold last half of February. Bet it carries right into March (However, Florida not invited to the party)

Perhaps the Midwest just might get jipped out of any warm weather this year
