Of course Redding is forecasted to get 4 inches in 5 days while we in Portland barely get anything because the forecast downgraded and the storm died.
Two days ago the forecast showed 2.25" here from 1/5 to 1/8. The next day it showed 1.5" from 1/5 to 1/8. Now it shows 1.4" from 1/5 to 1/10 (and it JUST downgraded from 1.6"). I thought we were supposed to be the wet, cold, gray climate.

No just cold and grey not wet.
Redding actually packs a bigger punch in its winter season than Portland and its summer heat is more impressive too. For instance Redding gets 5.96" in January vs 4.88" in Portland in January. Portland is 2" higher on the year but that's because there are intrusions of rain in the summer whereas Redding gets 0" all summer. When you account for evaporation Redding actually gets a net higher rainfall rate (according to Koppen). That's why redwoods can grow in Redding.

It's not even cold. If the average low in the dead of winter is still above freezing, it's not cold IMO.
I didn't realize that Redding was actually rainier on average in winter, though. Summers are ridiculously hot for the latitude and even more impressive when you consider that the comparatively mild Willamette Valley is 4.5 hours away. The more you know...
Well i am shocked i got over .30" of rain. 5 mins of heavy rain and 3 hours of lite rain. Now the Corvette is trashed and i gotta go out and wash it now.

We got 0.78" yesterday and today has been partly/mostly cloudy and windy and around 52.

We got 0.06" yesterday. Today's weather is the same here.
We also haven't had a single sub-40º high yet this winter. Sunday is forecasted to be 42/35, then rising up to 50s in the forecast from then on.
