Similar in my area.....very cold november...both with about a 4C average high...
temps this december will be almost the same as november...
that doesn’t happen too often.

Colder than normal in Pa for both Nov and Dec but no heavy snowfall in SE PA. One nice sized storm. We're extremely close to a record precipitation year and I think we're due for a snowy Jan and Feb/ Mar.

Merry Christmas:

Up next... Jet stream is digging over the Rockies so the storm track is so much more west than previous. It's also dragging a cold front across as the storm passes well to the north.

(Remember, a storm has to be to the South & EAST of you to get snow, unless its a Clipper and super cold)

Map is for Friday lunchtime. MORE RAIN! Take note of that pesky Bermuda High.

Tomorrow and Thursday: That storm track will produce a travel disrupting snowstorm for many.

Snow total forecast. WOW

More rain.

The next one to watch......... New Years Eve!??

Will it merge with the Northern Jet Stream or not?

If it does too early, it will be rain here again.
If it does too late the storm may miss us to the south.

1 problem. March and April are only 2-3 months away. If we get the split in mid January that could mean another extended winter. Why can't these splits happen in November-December and stick around.

Anyway - Lets enjoy what January and February have to offer. (Lets hope Cold and Snow!)

Merry Christmas everyone! It's 60 degrees with 96% humidity right now on the way to 71. Rain expected this evening. Okay Christmas day. We need the rain to wash away the high cedar pollen levels.

I was talking about Cedar last night regarding kindling for the fire.

Blue Skies and 36F here. Not bad. Just too brown and bare outside.

Let me grab some maps

Merry Christmas Morning Maps.

Temps and Upper Height Pattern. Where would you rather be this Christmas?
Northern Maine or South Dakota for me. Clear Skies and 10s

Who's getting what right now. Red icons are freezing fog. Gray is fog. Nice dip in the Jet down to Southern California.

5000' temps. Not that cold air mass inside that trough

Pretty bland across the U.S

But check out at 10,000 feet. -7C over Los Angeles

This is our last cool day for a while as the upper levels will be blocked for my area.
