More Augtober weather... Nashville hit 91 F / 33 C today and Bowling Green, KY saw 90 F / 32 C with a heat index of 94 F / 34 C.

A heat index of 94. In October. In Kentucky.

The first four days of Augtober have had an average high of 87 F / 31 C and average low of 66 F / 19 C. That AVERAGE high for the first four days of October is warmer than the United Kingdom's record October high (85.8 F / 29.9 C).

Could see some rain on and off today and tomorrow.

Maybe a couple more 80 degree days next week. ORD currently has 99 days at or above 80F for the year. MDW has 106 days which is close to it's all time record of 108 days set in 1991. Two more days next week would tie the record. IKK currently has 113 days at or above 80 degrees this year. On the other hand, Northerly Island on Chicago's downtown lakefront has only record 59 days at or above 80F.

But look what the CFSv2 has for the second half of October

Status quo here other than today being closer to normal.

3 Maps.

This weekend. Jet stays dipped over the Rockies.

Next week - Jet continues to stay dipped over the Rockies.

1st half of next week will feel like Summer..

There is light at the end of this dark warm tunnel. Next weekend. First taste of Fall in the Northeast. Sunday-Monday but that's over 7 days away.

I'm legitimately getting down now with all this warmth. What's the confidence that a cool down is actually coming and the SER finally dies?

Last night we were supposed to drop to 45F and only hit 50F. Monday is supposed to be 83F which is the average high for July 13th to July 19th aka the hottest week of the year.

Yup, we peaked at 22*C too! Yesterday morning was summery, this morning is wintry with frost on the roofs. Amazing what one day does.
