The mosquitos after Florence are on an epidemic proportion, it's really bad even well into the triangle area. I was getting eaten by a bunch of those huge gallnippers today. From what I hear there's clouds of them down where it flooded. Emergency funds are being tapped to fight them. They're apparently 3 times larger than normal mosquitos.
Why cant we see this in January? I like moderately warmer than normal Octobers with sunshine... ill take the 90s but geez. Would love to see this stick into winter.

I'd like to see if this pattern has evolved in years past with late starting weak/moderate Modoki El Nino or is this unrelated to it?
While the Enso state may not officially be El Niño yet it’s well on its way. The atmospheric forcing apparently has been in a nino state for a while.
The east will get the least this fall so live with it.
Speaking of records. Sept for my area was the hottest ever and the hottest month ever in Tampa since the 1800's. Oct 1st had the highest temp ever. More proof runaway heating is speeding up even faster than i was thinking it would 4 years ago.
Late this week...the setup. Jet stream dipping over the tall Rockies again.
BTW - There will be areas that get multiple days of snow next 10 days in Southern Saskatchewan/Manitoba and parts of the Rockies in U.S. Maybe northern Montana too.
Jet lifts north to Quebec and the heat rises in Eastern U.S.
Next week as I outlined yesterday. Accuweather has the snow south more but I assume that's higher elevations. But this is where the snowstorm potential exists
7amEST Map. That's Leslie out there. No threat to land.
I'd rather have 60s in the morning than 70s during the day in October. Both are above normal now.
Would love 60s in the morning and 50s in the afternoon but I guess that's asking for way too much.
Our average September temperature fell just outside the top ten warmest ever thanks to the last week or so having highs barely in the 60s. Temps mostly in the 80s now for the next week. Slight chance of rain this afternoon but not much. Best chance is late Thursday night and Friday morning. But temperatures aren't really looking to go down any. It certainly doesn't feel like October yet.
