Crazy. Gonna be a cold day. Probably get some good wind gusts from the north with the front.

Only once since 1948 you stayed in the 40s in April.(2007)

But the max Saturday will come after midnight which will ruin that stat. 70s at 2am. 40s at 2pm.

That was the day before Easter of 2007. There was sleet across the area, even some snow reports! Quite an unusual day for April. I remember a period of sleet, but I don't recall much accumulation if any in Alexandria.

4 Models for Sunday morning via TT.

So A cold front is coming through tomorrow and it will sag south and east. A storm will form over NC and ride this front. It's why DC has a chance at some snow flakes. The front sinks far enough south and there is enough cold air behind it.

But Look how far off the coast this front will be Sunday morning! Talk about close call for another snowstorm in NYC-Boston. Gees.

American GFS:

American NAM:

German:

Canadian:

Had the Atlantic Ridge been slightly west more, it would be happening. Another snowstorm. Missing us by like 200 miles.

Look at the NAO value. Not negative like when we had the NorEasters! That means there isn't big blocking in the North Atlantic to slow things down and push things closer to the coast.

No 80° there in Kansas yet? Farms must hate this pattern. Looks like none in next 5 days. Saturday lows in teens and highs in 40s

To be fair, the normal high doesn't hit 80°F in Wichita until mid to late May

Canada and CONUS as well as Easter Siberia are seeing the brunt of negative anomalies. Global temps still above average for the month to date
