What do you get when its 15° at 5000' and low 30s at the surface? Instability. Just had snow flurries again.

Sounding over Long Island this morning confirms it's 15°F at 5k. Very cold airmass for Mid March but nothing extreme

wind started to blow hard around 6 pm. Cold air mass moving in? Went to around 40°F today, looks dry and clear now.

Finally upper 40s but I don't get it.

Was it fake snow that fell?
Is the sun not producing heat anymore?

I don't get how the snow on my deck can last 11 days without melting..IN MARCH! Tomorrow will be 12 if this doesn't melt.

And it's in the 40s today.

And I only got 6" from the 7th and 4" from the 13th. Not like there was 2 feet of snow.

Some severe storms possible tomorrow. Threat looks kind of borderline for me right now.

From TWC:

Maybe a more significant threat further east on Monday.
