That's calendar/astronomical winter

Meteorological winter is Dec 1-Feb 28/29 Northern Hemisphere or of course Jun 1-Aug 31 Southern Hemisphere

I just don't add up my rainfall amounts that way. When i run my figs for temps and rainfall amounts i go by the true season. Like June 21st to true fall in Sept.

Im hoping that Greenland block holds on giving us that winter chance. Western ridge & warm arctic also great to get. Good timing. Lets see if things turn around for mid December.

Currently here, in Aurora, ME, 28F, Dew Point 19F...Winds WNW 15 MPH...Cloudy & cold....
A long, sought rest of four days off we found, encompasing Thanksgiving Day! Aching joints and muscles finally received a rest...Weary souls longing for reprive, satisfied..
Walked the Birch Meadows these past four days...becoming once again one with the land...Discovered a new Beaver Lodge along the lower pond and smiled! Looks like a new family is homesteading!
Thankful for the rest..Thankful for this life in Downeast Maine...Thankful to be living our dreams!

Pattern still doesn't support snowstorms in the East for another week+. We'll have to wait even more..

Have to wait till mid December probably.

Just wish it wasnt 11+ days from now but some signs pointing to that change we need.

Models got this boring pattern right 2 weeks ago, lets see if this change for mid December comes true.
