There is also a ridge that comes up from Mexico to shield TX and LA from cold. If that teams up with the SE ridge, then you have total shielding from the cold in the South.
The point is never believe anything the models say that far out, much less past 5-7 days out. I am not impressed with the signals for any strong arctic cold yet. Not much in the way of precipitation or storms for the eastern US for early December. Colder air not meeting with storms much yet.
I agree with you concurrently, which is why I never put much stock in weather forecasting more than a few days out, these models at such distance in the future are nothing more than entertainment and fantasy outlooks
