If you want you could take the polar vortex from Montreal and keep it on the other side of the lakes in Minneapolis, I wouldnt mind

Perhaps Majami will come back, and you can battle about who's PWS is more accurate.

What run was it? How many were used to give the average forecast map compared with what JB is showing?

JAMSTEC showing blow torch basically for the entire US this winter

Its not too soon lol, winter is the season that gets the most activity lol. It was the 00z run this morning, it was the average of the last 12 runs. How you like the new gfs update, feel like it will put up more of a fight with the euro, especially with the new hourly forecasts which will help with details and short range forecast a lot.

Yes it will!

I wonder if it's possible to have a cold winter in Minneapolis and a warm one in New York. It happened in the summer where Chicago and even Upstate New York had a cold, below average summer while New York City was warm, but I think it's less likely in the winter

I might be more excited then you are. I look forward to your posts. Hope its not too shell shocking.

My sister went from NYC suburb to Atlanta to near Buffalo. Hates them all. Lol One didnt give enough break from heat, another was too humid, one was too cold and snowy. She prefers cold over heat but I think February 2015 made her change her opinion on the Buffalo area.

Similar experience here, I used to hate heat and love chilly weather...well at least until I went to college upstate and experienced November 2013, and then February 2014, and then March 2014, etc. By the time April 2015 came around I was yelling "omg I take it back, I want it to be 90 degrees!!!"

I'm not lying when I say that Upstate NY is completely different from anything NYC has in store for you. In NYC everyone goes berserk whenever temperatures drop into the teens, but in Binghamton that was the average day in January and February the past few years. NYC is practically Mecca when compared to Binghamton lol
