Trump is an absolute waste of oxygen, unfortunately it seems there are plenty of ignorant people in the US that support him, but then that is not really surprising...

And France has its National Front, and many other European countries have similar right-wing "nationalist" types.

I find that the US in general has a much more right wing approach to politics than most of Europe. What is considered 'liberal' over there is pretty much the norm over here.

No. Trump is polling around 30% of the Republican electorate. Assuming the Republican Party gets 45-50% of the vote, that's about 14-16%. His poll numbers at the moment are 35%, even then, at most 18%. A favorability rating would place Trump higher at 34%, but that's not quite the same as % who'd vote for him:
