The US has asked Sweden, Finland and Norway for help against ISIS.
Too bad that the Finnish law prevents Finland from involving in offensive military operations abroad except for training purposes, which we have done for years training the Kurdish Peshmerga. But the US knows this. For Sweden and Norway there's no legal problem to involve in offensive action.
A revision of this law, being a remnant of WWII, is being drafted, so maybe our fighter pilots will "get some" in the future.
I don't know why you're rolling your eyes. His comments are entirely accurate. Severing our ties with states like Saudi Arabia - which essentially run under the same type of system ISIS uphold but a little less barbaric - would do a lot to combating them. They (Saudi Arabia) at least indirectly fund these religious death cult nutters.
The US doesn't, or at least I highly doubt it, but the fact that leading Western nations continue to cosy up to these places makes them slightly hypocritical in their attempts to destroy ISIS.

I was rolling my eyes at his comment that the US funds IS, which is complete nonsense...
Saudi-Arabia is definitely funding the Daesh, but it doesn't mean much anymore, as the Daesh can sell oil on the black market, making it the wealthiest terrorist organisation seen so far.
The US funding these nuts are simply ridiculous conspiracy theories.

Then how is it entirely accurate if the US part isn't?
The idea that the U.S. government is funding (or has funded) ISIS is not a possibility I completely reject.
When it really comes down to it, IS can be obliterated by the powers that be if they want. But they don't want that, not right now.. nor do they care much about attacks like the one in Paris or the bombing of the Russian flight. In the meantime, they're smuggling oil to Turkey, and Erdogan is absolutely in on that. I think some of that smuggled oil goes to Israel as well.
Russia recently bombed some oil tankers smuggling the product to Turkey. Turkey wants to protect their supply line, hence their shooting down of the Russian jet.
The U.S. just has zero credibility. Russia has emerged as the only country that seems serious about this.
Russia is one of the few powers left which matter; it is fiercely protective of its interests, and isn't afraid to be proud.
