Strange thing - I must have misread the wind direction previously -it is now NNE 12mph. Current temp 39F, we have at least 7 inches of accumulated snow on the ground (from previous storms). Lightly raining.
Still below freezing now, warmed up to 28°F. Listening to someone scrap ice off his windshield, glad I don't have to. C'mon warm up:
HAVE EXTENDED THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR INTERIOR MA AND CT
VALLEY THROUGH 16Z. THIS MAINLY DUE TO SURFACE TEMPS HOVERING IN
THE MID TO UPPER 20S. HI-RES GUIDANCE WILL BEGIN TO SCOUR OUT THE
COLD AIR CLOSER TO 15-17Z. WILL NEED TO CONTINUE TO MONITOR OVER
THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS AS THERE IS A CHANCE THAT PORTIONS OF THE
ADVISORY MAY DROP OF EARLIER THAN EXPECTED.
this didn't happen on schedule
PRECIP HAS ENDED ACROSS SNE AND OTHER THAN A BRIEF SHOWER EXPECT
MOSTLY DRY CONDITIONS THROUGH THE MORNING. COLD AIR DAMMING IN THE
INTERIOR VALLEYS HOLDING TEMPS IN THE 20S...PRIMARILY CT VALLEY
AND MERRIMACK VALLEY. ELSEWHERE TEMPS HAVE RISEN INTO THE 40S WITH
SOME LOCATIONS IN NE CT/RI AND SE MA NEAR 50 DEGREES. HI-RES

some high precipitation rates for winter
THE NEXT ROUND OF WEATHER WILL BE A PERIOD OF HEAVY RAIN AND GUSTY
WINDS WHICH WILL BE MOVING ACROSS SNE FROM WEST TO EAST BETWEEN 2
AND 8 PM. THIS WILL BE AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT AND WILL BE DRIVEN
BY ANOMALOUS LOW LEVEL JET WHICH IS 4SD ABOVE NORMAL COMBINED
WITH +3SD PWAT PLUME AND ELEVATED INSTABILITY WHICH MAY ALSO
RESULT IN ISOLD THUNDER. SYSTEM IS VERY PROGRESSIVE AND MOST OF
THE RAIN WILL LIKELY OCCUR IN A 2-3 HOUR PERIOD WITH RAINFALL
0.50-1.50" WHICH WILL RESULT IN AREAS OF URBAN AND POOR DRAINAGE
FLOODING.

Crazy! Look to your East in Worcester. Look at the CT "Valley". Cold air is just trapped.
I been near 50 for couple hours now. lol Gotta love/hate the coast. At least you get these warmer breaks in the winter if that's what someone wants. Or just don't be in a valley I guess.
But check it out. Still ice around even with the 50s. This is why I wanted to shovel the snow last night. It would take longer with snow around. Experience & memory are a great thing.
