^^ Yeah, well like we've been saying on other threads, some places have seen bigger ranges in 2 days than cities like Orlando or SF have seen in recorded history:
Biggest swings I know of were in Saranac Lake (SLK) and Mount Washington (MWN).
Not for cold, but for diurnal range. This morning Islip started out at 5F, and right now it's made it up to 47F. That's the biggest range I know of historically, and the day is not over. Temps still rising! I wonder if a 50F range is possible there in the future
Needless to say, Westhampton had a bigger range: -8 to 48F. I know they've gotten 50+ ranges before. Don't know about 60+. Doubt it.

Doing a little digging. Don't know how to find multiple days worth
Biggest 1 day Range on Record: (too lazy to find the month)
Mt Washington: 61 degree swing in 1950
Saranac Lake: 59 degree swing in 2007
Worcester: 47 degree swing in 1990
The weather got more intense than I was expecting today!
A Pizza Hut was damaged in Alexandria after wind picked up part of a car wash and threw it into the building around lunch time. A couple of minor injuries reported. The roof of Pizza Hut fell on top of some cars.I'm thinking it was straight line winds and not a tornado.
Two rounds of storms came through, one around 8 AM and one after noon. Both produced frequent lightning and small hail. I ended up with 3.26 inches of rain at my house. The airport didn't get as much with 1.48 inches.
NWS has determined that the damage yesterday was caused by a microburst.
Wow. So that station in far southwestern Vermont recorded a min of -17 Sunday night...and a max of 56 today for a 73 degree range?
Do we have a winner?
Like I said before, the winner is Saranac Lake in Northeast NY state, which went from -30 to 49. For a 79F range.
I've heard of cities like Minneapolis and Oklahoma City get 70+ ranges within a single day, not recently though. The world record for 24 hour range is a 103F range in Loma, MT back in 1972: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loma,_Montana
I don't know about 2 days or a week or month. For one-year range, the record probably belongs to Oymyakon in 2002 with a low of -85F and a high of 85F, a 170F range.
Just fun to look at right now. It's Euro's long range so grab the salt.
Max temps next Thursday Feb 25th on left. Min Temps Friday Feb 26th on right. This is after the big Gulf Storm that rides up the coast, Jet Stream digs way down south
