Even Taipei is expected to get close to freezing in nexts days.

Look this Town at 27N and 300m of Altitude its the same of an place in Southern Texas:

They are talking about an high close to 1060Hpa.

Now we see that arent only the Us South that get some big anomalies from time to time.

They are happening at almost same time as the Eastern US Storm.

Islands of Southern Korea and Southern Japan are being dumped with heavy snow.
What were the actual temps, and then we can discuss anomalies. The average temps are lower in China latitude for latitude, so you cannot directly compare.

The anomalies still do not come close to North America. Has Hong Kong actually gone below freezing yet?

Hong Kong itself dont will go below freezing, but the mountains at north certain will.

You have to accept that China is far Colder than US given latitude for latitude,Both subtropical areas can receive cold Continental air in Winter like we are seeing now.

The Amazing is that Shanghai is at the same latitude as Jacksonville.

Do you imagine Jacksonville with -5C High?

Shanghai received snow in the lasts tree days.

I dont think the Citrus that you alway talk have enjoyed it..

Speaking of Jacksonville, it looks like the people down there will be freezing their butts off tomorrow afternoon. Temps in the lower-mid 40s during the afternoon with 20 mph wind is fairly rare for north Florida.

Yeah that's pretty nasty weather for Florida standards.

Even Miami will have a chilly day with the temperature dropping into the 50s today. Low of 47 F/8 C tonight and a windchill down to 40 F/4 C.
