I saw some crazy tweets early this morning. Was too tired to post. Pretty crazy flooding scenes!

Twitter search for Kentucky Flooding. https://twitter.com/search?q=Kentuck...oding&src=typd

Here's last 12hours only radar estimates. 2-4" of rain in last 12hrs.

forecast discussion from Gray ME [covers New Hampshire and western Maine]

ORIGINAL DISCUSSION...
EARLY MORNING SHOWERS WILL EXIT OVER THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO. SHOULD
SEE SOME CLEARING THROUGH THE MORNING AND MUCH OF THE AREA WILL
SEE A GOOD DEAL OF SUNSHINE. ALTHOUGH A WEAK FRONTAL BOUNDARY
MOVES THROUGH EARLY THIS MORNING... IT WILL NOT BE BRINGING IN
COLDER AIR. IN FACT TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE SIGNIFICANTLY WARMER
TODAY THAN THEY WERE YESTERDAY.

TREND OVER THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS INCLUDING THE LAST SEVERAL DAYS
IS FOR MODELS TO BE TOO COLD WITH TEMPERATURES ESPECIALLY HIGH
TEMPERATURES. THE LAST FEW DAYS HAVE BEEN BUSTING OUR FORECAST BY
ABOUT 5 DEGREES
AND THIS WAS FACTORED INTO TODAY`S FORECAST. HAVE
GONE ABOVE MODEL GUIDANCE TO ATTEMPT TO COMBAT THIS TREND AND
REFLECT THE WARM AIR MASS OVERHEAD. 60S WILL BE WIDESPREAD TODAY
WITH EVEN SOME LOW 70S IN SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
. WITH LIGHT WINDS
TODAY AND A VERY COLD OCEAN... A SEA BREEZE IS EXPECTED THIS
AFTERNOON. THIS SEA BREEZE WILL AFFECT AREAS FROM PORTLAND
EASTWARD THE MOST THOUGH WILL LIKELY ARRIVE IN SOUTHEAST NEW
HAMPSHIRE LATER IN THE DAY TOO. NAM SURFACE WIND FIELDS SHOW THIS
SEA BREEZE PUSHING ALL THE WAY INTO SOUTHERN SOMERSET COUNTY THIS
AFTERNOON. AS THE SEA BREEZE MOVES IN IT COULD BE QUITE COLD
BEHIND IT
. TRIED TO SHOW DROPPING TEMPERATURES BEHIND THE SEA
BREEZE IN THE HOURLY TEMPERATURE FORECAST BUT THIS CAN BE QUITE
DIFFICULT TO PORTRAY.

THE LAST TIME THERE WERE WIDESPREAD 60 DEGREE TEMPERATURES WAS
RIGHT BEFORE THANKSGIVING. IT SNOWED THE NEXT DAY.
WHICH BRINGS US
INTO TONIGHT`S FORECAST...

Over 6" rain the last two days and totally saturated ground with flooding. Remember when we were discussing soil moisture and dewpoints...is it too early to get excited?

Still too early, I assume the ground is at least partially frozen down by you? Maybe not. A lot of that may run off. However, if you get a few repeated events like that, you are in for a muggy summer. Maybe not hot, but certainly muggy. We on the other hand have been pretty dry this Spring
