Keep an eye on my red circle.. I did not look at any forecasts but based on current 850mb temp airmass and that pocket of +20C, I'm going to assume temps within that area will be very warm well above normal today.
Area Forecast Discussion
Issued by NWS Louisville, KY
Late afternoon model data continues to suggest a threat of very heavy rainfall with the expected convection over the next few days.
As we get closer to the late morning and afternoon hours, convection may become more sfc based with strong winds and some hail possible. Another shortwave is progged to push through Thurs mid afternoon/evening sparking more storms.
Focus in the long term period is on Friday and the potential for strong to severe storms across parts of the area. The upper level pattern Friday morning is expected to feature southwesterly flow with an approaching shortwave trough during the course of the day. At the surface, a messy pattern is likely, characterized by ongoing showers and storms associated with a slow moving boundary draped across parts of the area.
Have fun. Hope they don't go around you this yr. Meanwhile, I'll have fun with the cold Atlantic while NYC gets into the 60s tomorrow.
STRONG WAA AND DOWNSLOPING EFFECTS WILL PUSH MAX TEMPS INTO THE LOW TO MID 60S FOR NYC AND URBANIZED PORTIONS OF NE NJ...WHILE MOST OF THE CWA WILL TOP OFF IN THE MID TO UPPER 50S. ONLY EXCEPTION WILL BE LONG ISLAND AND COASTAL CT WHERE THE FLOW COMING OFF THE COLD WATERS WILL KEEP HIGHS ONLY IN THE LOW 50S.
If it reaches 65F tomorrow in NYC I will be so happy! And if it reaches 68F (20C) then I'll proudly declare myself the luckiest man on the fact of the earth
