Weekly Long Range Forecast Model Update
April 16, 2015; 11:03 PM ET
This is my latest interpretation of the ECMWF forecast model that now goes out through the middle of May.
Upper Level low still in the SouthWest. Hence the 1-3 feet of snow above 6000'
Shown here is the 500mb heights and the 10,000 foot temps. It's above freezing everywhere in the U.S at 4500' or lower.
Looking at the stations in Colorado I can't find any that are under 4000'. So as the radar is showing, it's snowing most of the state.
Some roads are just slushy in the urban areas.
Spinning and Spinning almost vertically stacked which means the storm is spinning from the surface to 18,000 feet+ and the center is around the same spot (NW New Mexico)
So basically It's colder at 10,000 feet over New Mexico then New England right now. I love those ULL's! Enhanced precip for CO!
