Very Impressive snow totals there in the inland areas of upper New England, Betcha you wish you could have that on you. Still haven't seen any freezes as Of November 7th, but you may get a light freeze or a hard frost towards the end of next week. Indianapolis saw their first low temperature of < 36 F on the day before Halloween, beating the old record for latest first fall frost set in 2005.

Signs of a cold spell for early winter maybe...PLEASE I NEED COLD!
That appeared on the new GFS and then disappeared yesterday and today but I think it might come back again later today or tonight, the gfs has this habit of picking up cold weather and then dropping it for it finally to come back..
This winter is going to be fascinating in the U.S and I say that without hype. The pattern setting up now does not change to a warmer less snowy one in weeks or a month. It will stay.
Whether it be until mid January or all winter it's a pattern that makes winter lovers drool. The added bonus of seeing the PV split off and get stuck in Canada in November is truly fascinating and exciting.
I'm actually starting to feel bad for Canada.
