That's nice to know... if you're referring to weather, I don't see what's so enviable about freezing rain. I'd understand this remark if we were all getting snow.

Roads are a disaster. I don't get people unless you were on the road when it started. If you see ice on your car or walkway, DONT go anywhere!

Even a little ice is a disaster for roads

11am Radar, temp and metar update. Upper 40s Long Island but still at/below freezing NW of I-95.

29 F/-2 C with freezing rain at 11:15AM

Roads are a mess across the state. What are all these people doing out on a Sunday morning? I'm sure many of them didn't need to be out on the roads. Thank goodness it isn't a weekday.

Up to 33.8 °F / 1.0 °C so it's not freezing rain here any longer.

You're really don't want freezing rain. It's dangerous and not usually pretty.

It could still be. Air temperature is usually measured at 2 m, ground temperature can be colder. It was much colder earlier, so the ground probably will take some time to warm up.

NJ, NY, CT a road mess.

"NJ State Police say 231 car accidents reported between midnight and 9 a.m."

That's just to 9am. Gotta be thousands across the 3 states.

So Mt. Greylock is getting rain not snow from this, going by 850 mb temperatures. So if I want to go hiking in the snow, not much will be left that's decent after the precipitation is over. This is an interesting site I found:
