And after the blizzard, a little chilly in the Northeast
I've never seen a temp output that is so crackpot
Just found out today that NWS Pittsburgh moved official snow measurements for Pittsburgh starting this winter to their WFO a few miles NE of KPIT; the NWS rep explained to me that the WFO is typically colder at night than KPIT due to better cold air drainage and, more importantly, less pavement.

It's going to get cold in the Northeast. How cold is to be determined.
Listening to the radio this morning it sounds like the northeast (or maybe just part of it) got the fine powder snow. Is that typical out there? Thought it was usually the clumpy/big flakes type.

Usually the clippers and minor snowfalls tend to be more powdery (not always though). It was an impressively cold storm, but it certainly isn't unprecedented. This past weekend's snowfall (6 inches) was a heavy wet snow. Temps were closer to freezing and rose above during the day.
That happened here the other day. I wanted to get a pic but I couldn't.
