While those in the northeast have been doing well, this winter has been a complete disaster with regards to snow once you get south of Fredericksburg. Almost no one outside the mountains has seen more than an inch, and only a few have even seen that. It's even been bad in the mountains. Boone, NC averages 10.1" in January, but they only got 1.5". Asheville hasn't seen more than flurries since October. Meanwhile, Nashville (outside the mountains), which gets 1" snowfalls almost every year, hasn't had one since February 2011.

I seriously doubt anyone in the SE (excluding the mid-Atlantic, KY, and those who got snow November 1) will even make 50% of climo this year. There's a possibility that Raleigh, Charlotte, and Greensboro each fail to see any accumulating snow this year. That has only happened 3 times in the past 88 years. Also, Charlotte failed to see even a trace of snow in November, December, and January this season. That has only happened 5 times in over 100 years.

Will see what happens for summer. It extremely rare to have 3 poor summers in a row here. Could happen, but I do believe spring will arrive late this year (AGAIN).

Until then, check out the GFS medium range.

People need to learn how to drive. Storm's over, the streets are reasonably clear but still wet, not much traffic, I cross at a designated cross walk, patiently wait for the signal, begin to cross, and then for some reason I take a look to my right. When I turn my head to look forward again all I see is some **** making a left turn and cutting past me no more than two feet in front of me...
