We had 41 and snow today. Blechhhh. With the last couple of days rain and snow still in the woods, all the rivers are pushing flood stage and the dam in town is on the verge of collapse. The face of it started to slide into the drink a few hours ago and they are hoping it doesn't let go totally tonight.
Wow. I hope your house stays dry if the dam breaks. Is it an old one or something?
And Jammie, I wish we had the heat we were having before. It was 93*, I wouldn't mind giving up 5-10* to help you people out in the plains, mid west, and northeast. Sadly, it only got into the upper 60's today and it's only 59* right now. I hate this. This weekend is only supposed to be in the low 60's. ILNC, lets trade...please!

Yes it is an old earthen dam that made it through the night and is now on the downhill side of danger. There are two dams that are in town due to lumber mills that were here at the turn of last century and still in operation as late as the 20's and 30's. The newer one is a nice concrete one, but they have been talking about removing the upper earth one for years and haven't done it due to budget constraints (as well as EPA). Looks like no more putting it off though, it has to come down this year now for sure.
WE would stay dry if it broke for sure. While being downstream from it, we are also higher. It would have made a good show though because there are no homes that would have been washed out, but we would have lost a couple of bridges and they say it would have taken out the 2 other dams downstream.
This morning we had HEAVY frost again and a few flakes of snow in the air. It is clearing up now and looks like it is going to be a beautiful day with a high kind of chilly around 50.
Today 1st of May in Paris
Rain showers interspesed with sunny spells, quite windy

Climate change maybe, but in the colder direction!
Bydand, you live in Maine, right? If so, they were talking about it on TWC this morning. They also are having problems in NH.
It's 59 here with no windchill even though it's blowing at 16 mph, which isn't bad for us. The high for today is supposed to be 61 which is nearly our average~65. Four hours west of me they're having a raging snowstorm.
