Wow. Seems Lexington is in a great spot right now. I'm sure it will change.

With that said... New Euro today was interesting and the Euro ensembles didn't agree with the operational Euro. Ensembles are there to confirm what was shown by the "normal" Euro we all see.

The ensembles basically said it's going to be colder and the storm off the coast more Saturday morning. Which means more snow for more folks including the coast.

Great video by Bernie again explains why and what's being shown and his thoughts.

Current radar

Storm about to exit the Virginia/NC coast next few hours and come up. Not often we get snow with temps in teens let alone twice in one winter.

Feels like single digits out there. Darker blue band is setup now from DC to NJ snowing good under that

Was a chilly one this morning. Went down to -18F / -28C this morning. Many areas around me were well into the -20'sF . The poor SUV was slow to turn over this morning. But....it is Winter so I can't really complain. It's suppose to be cold, I guess....but I'd rather take oodles of snow over the bitter cold.

feels brutal, face was stinging when walking. 16F, with windchill 4F. Walking around 10F warmer I was ok though my face felt a bit chilled. So my thershold is somewhere in the low to mid 20s.

Man,that was a fun drive home from work. Normally takes me about 20 minutes, took me 30. Stuck to the backroads, which were just covered in snow, but there was *no one* on the roads, at least behind me to rush me. Just went a leisurely 25-30mph on a 50mph zone the whole way. Pure snow is easier to drive on than that slushy, uneven stuff in higher traffic areas.

1:20pm Radar and metars with actual OBS from Baltimore, Philly, Islip where its snowing hard. Look at wind chill on Islip. 2.6°F

That heavier blue band is now expanding northward. People need to start getting off the road next couple hours in NYC metro and southern CT. Hope everyone under that band was ready

The arctic front is the reason and where that heavy band is.

Here's a pic from NJ probably where that band is.
