Sounds nice. Can't wait until it opens. Local news had stories on the opening this morning. I may check it out later in the month. I'll wait until things settle down.

Yeah I am going to go during the day to just check it out. Plan to check out the restaurant Marcus later in the month. Interesting thing about the video. It appears that they haven't signed all of the retail which I thought was odd. I also heard that the orbitrons (facing 495 and Oxon Hill Manor) are going to be delayed or may not be added at all

Well, I think we know that Louis Vitton will be in the casino. I think Sarah Jessica Parker let that slip in this article.

The casino is a destination that’s sort of an alternate universe, a fantasy, and we’re sitting alongside Louis Vuitton and these really fine luxury brands, so we get to sort of compete in that world in a way,” she continues.

First look inside the casino. I assume this was media day. The Washington Post has about just over 20 photos. Real, not rendered!

More video and press.

Of course they will have nice base of clients but I wonder how many they will loose. Being a tri-state area people don't have a problem traveling so this may backfire on them. We will see.

On another note, I've heard that the salaries are pretty solid. A friend of a friend who is a chef received a significant bump in the six figure mark. Another went from about 40k to 90k for a manager's slot over there. No surprise they have been paying top dollar for experience. On the flip side, I have also heard that they have already began firing people who have been consistently late during the training period, lacked customer service skills, or didn't pass the criminal background check (of course). What was amazing to me was that someone with a criminal record who was informed that they would perform a criminal check would take the job like they wouldn't find out about their past....smh...really?!! At least we know that MGM is sticking to their standard when it comes to the quality of their employees. However they need to rethink the paid parking because I am pretty sure I remember them saying that they would not charge during the competition phase.

Apparently they are implementing a paid parking model in all of their properties to minimize people parking at their properties to avoid parking fees elsewhere. Still don't know how that will play long term.

This is great for those that are getting a bump of this magnitude. That really is a life changing bump. Conversely I don't think people realize how many people in the labor pool or wholly unqualified for most jobs in the economy because they lack basic work ethic or rudimentary skills.

That is a significant bump. I was surprised by it actually. I agree that professionalism and a strong work ethic can get you far in your career.
