Yes, Fairbanks. It does look a bit like its name. I almost posted this more famous “suburb” but thought it would be a little too easy, if not seasonally appropriate.

It's not New York but it is a Northern Tier state. And that tree should be familiar, it's been in a number of Meryl Streep, Denzel Washington and Bradley Cooper movies as a stand-in for the real tree.

Hint: Use your noggin. And the river from which this is taken is small in the pic but gets much bigger a couple hundred miles downstream.

Ah c’mon man SluggoF16, Brainerd is more than the NorthStar Apartments. It has a couple of watertowers, and a three story county courthouse!... And the nearby Blue Ox Motel. Marge Gunderson would be proud though.

I was going to post Bemidji where my SIL lives; her husband has family in Brainerd. The Blue Ox statue in Bemidji is pretty tall. SIL lives ON the Mississippi River where it's about 30 yards across.
