Si! The building with the lighthouse played a crucial role in Mexico's 1913-1917 revolution, and it served as the national capitol from 1914-1915. It is named for Venustiano Carranza, the hero of the revolution and president of Mexico from 1917 to 1920.

Looks like St. Catherine’s Church in Hamburg, Germany. Interesting angle cutting out some of the other notable churches on the skyline. If you squint you might just see some of the red lights of St. Pauli in the port distance.

You beat me to it... a genealogy check reveals a good number of my distant relatives came from the Hamburg area. So I guess I could say "Ich bin ein Hamburger".
