I knew BucFan/TBMorgan couldn't stay silent for long. Just three series lost through the end of May and he still finds something to complain about. Not that attendance is in any way, shape, or form the fault of the players, manager, or owners.

what part of "nice winning lately" didn't you like? BTW, if attendance is 5k, you better bet the owners have a role, if you don't think so, you don't understand the issues at hand....the attendance story is huge in the area and baseball and not a complaint as I have no problems if they head to Portland, San Antonio, Indianapolis, Hartford, Montreal, or wherever.

Obviously as I'm the only one posting on this thread - the interest in the Rays is pretty low/weak - even on area message boards.

As a transplant from South Florida, I am thrilled to have contributed to that record number of fans who did not attend...Just like I was thrilled to have contributed to the record number of fans who did not attend the Miami Marlins (of Florida) games.

Understandable. Not everyone has an interest in attending games.

I attended a Rays/Dodger game last week. Was a good time. No fan of team sports but decided 'what the hell' as I was bored and wanted something to do. The drive from Sand key to St Pete felt like an hour plus. The Ray's owner should build a new Dome in Central St Pete, like in Largo. The current Tropicana Dome is a bit depressing. Looks like crap inside. Dangerous wires hanging down, the Dome is dirty, etc.

Why not build one with a retractable roof? Enough stadiums have them now.

that location wouldn't work - needs to be more near the population willing to go to games - more where Bucs stadium is or near downtown/Brandon/Ybor......you're right about the stadium....they've spruced it up, but probably don't want to invest too much more....the whole outfield wall of outdated ads as well could look better. Needs to look like a modern day ball park facade. Could do better outdoors as well where people are waiting to get in - make it an appealing atmosphere - I hang out in and around the Dome before games and never felt in danger but that's mostly during day games. ...one thing for sure, tickets are cheap - a fraction of the price you'd pay in the major market.

Most of the season except maybe a few days in April or Oct (if they got to the playoffs) the roof would need to be shut --and they have daily pm showers during most of the summer.....need kind of glass window type deal like you see in many stadiums nowaways.
