90% of the players who leave or get traded from the Rays go on to disappoint their new team. Even if the player does ok like Price he certainly isn't worth paying $30mil per year. The Rays were wise not to sign Crawford or Upton for their huge contracts either. Longoria should have been traded years before he actually was. And in 100 years they will still be ranking the Archer trade for Glasnow/Meadows as one of the most lopsided transactions in the history of the game. So I wouldn't worry about keeping players that other teams over-value. The Tampa Bay front office knows what it's doing.

Upton STUNK for the Braves too. I don't think he hit .200. He's laughing all the way to the bank. We had him and his Brother Justin, and it was a train wreck. At least his Brother could hit a little, but he was a strike out machine plus his defense was weak. If I was as bad as BJ Upton, I'd change my name to Melvin too.

He was well above average for the Rays though, and cheap. The Braves obviously thought he would get even better when they signed him to a 5 year/$75mil contract. Little known fact: BJ briefly held the record for most homeruns in a postseason (7).

As fast as Kiermaier is, he's still slower than Upton was for the Rays. Seems like the Rays still send runners as if BJ and Crawford are still out there, hence all the caught-stealings and pick-offs this year. Hardly any bunts in 2019 though. Odd....

Congratulations to the rays on their season, Great job of doing a lot with so little. Once again due to a bad "business model" the top 4 teams just happen to be all top ten teams in payroll. A league rigged against the small market teams. Glad to see rays fans get a little playoff action. lets hope fans don't have to wait another 6 yrs.

Let's also hope more Tampa residents will start attending regular season games. Otherwise we can all kiss this franchise goodbye. There is a HUGE home field advantage when the Trop is full and no advantage at all when attended like it was this year. The players and the front office are doing their part. It's time for the fans to do theirs', which is the easiest role anyway....go catch a game with your friends or family. Tickets and parking are cheap and plentiful. The 2019 team was one of the four best in the American League. There are no more excuses.

Anyone who witnessed the first 10 pitches of the game could tell you the Astros knew what pitches were coming. It's the Rays job to intentionally mix up the signals and deliveries to thwart the hitters.
