here is a photo from march 2013 of Shane road, looking back east over the railroad tracks. we used to come out here at night. people said the tracks were haunted because of a school bus incident with a train. a little further up the road, and on the right, is a softball field i used to play at all the time in the 70's and 80's.

i remember the Mexiteria extremely well. used to go there with my ex-wifes family. actually, her dad loved the place. i was a growin' boy. i'd eat anywhere....anytime. food was ok but they sure put a lot of cheese on everything. i shouldn't be complaining though. most places nowdays are stingy on their cheese.

don't know the name of that club that sat by the creek, in behind HEB. but here are some photos from the flood of 1981. dean coley garage was half under water. and a city bus tried to cross this section. it ended up downstream, up against a big oak tree, behind the old west ave. driving range. i have a pic of that too soon as i find it. enjoy.

the suicide off the tower of america was in the mid 70's. i had a brother-in-law that worked as a fireman at that time, who had to make the call. bill selsor was his name. he passed away back in 2009. i was told half of his body landed on the big light fixtures that light up at night, and shine on the tower. never knew why he jumped.

anyone remember The Cockpit Club at airport and loop 410? i was gonna catch a ride from a girl i met at the bar one night. she looked pretty drunk, so i asked her if she wanted me to drive. she said NO, she was ok. famous last words, right?. she started up the car, and put it in drive, and hit the gas; only problem was, is that she must have forgotten she was parked head first into the outside wall of the club. her car went thru it. i called a cab. end of story. never knew if she got arrested that night or not. i didn't hang around to find out.
