Yes, from your posts I figured we must have grown up in the same area or close to one another. I lived over off of West Ave just a couple of blocks south of Basse Road. My stomping grounds were all up and down West Ave, Vance Jackson, Cherry Ridge... went to school over off of Blanco Road.

Mud, we had one of those too. Bright yellow and long. At least it seemed long at the time. Lots of fun. I think we grew up in a good time.

Camping out in the back yard! We thought we were so brave when we draped a bedspread over the clothesline and made a tent. We ruined one of my mom's bedspreads one time. After we draped it over the clothes line we hammered pieces of wood through the four corners and into the ground. Great tent... really unhappy mom. We never did that again.

Yeah Bowlerama. had my very first car wreck at the light there.

supposed to be at Blessed Sacrament Church for Mass.

57 Chevrolet, north on Blanco, and looking out the drivers side window.

two really nice looking young ladies in front of the Bowlerama.

turn back for a look thru the windshield.

whoooaa... light's RED, car is stopped at the light ahead as required by law.

and I proceed to plow the family 57 into the vehicle that was paying attention.....

what deeds do you have to share darryl??

looking forward to your reply..............

going out braun road to the west, towards 1604, is Braun Hall, on the right. it has 1 ball field, and a small dance hall. i used to play softball out here back in the early 70's when braun road was a small, single asphalt road. there was NOTHING out there at night but DARK! after the games, we would sit on ice chests in the middle of the road. we may sit there drinkin for 2 hours, and you wouldn't have but 2 or 3 cars pass you all night. it was definitely "sticksville" all the way. man those sure were some good times. and good friends. the hall is still there, and its like another city has grown up all around it. i took pics a couple of years ago. can't find 'em to post. guess i better go take some more before this place gets bulldozed.
