Yes, Tzaph, that is true about everyone expressing their opinions, beliefs, and "facts" here. The point is that we DO distinguish among those categories in our own minds. It matters whether or not one truly believes something to be "fact" and expresses it or just believes it, or just has an opinion about it. Taking insults from what someone sincerely believes to be "fact" makes no sense whatsoever!!!
If you have any credible evidence or source that our generic primitive ancestors were not spiritually primitive and as described despite practices of throwing babies into fire or stoning people to death to please God please enlighten me!
it is not about what this or that culture believed in this or that century.
it is simply knowing the difference between what are facts, and what are beliefs, opinions, views, interpretations.
no matter how strongly a person feels about their views, opinions, beliefs, and interpretations...
and no matter what is the content of a person's views, opinions, belifes, and interpretations...
....that does not make their beliefs, opinions, views, and interpretations into facts.

And all posters...whether christian, Buddhist, Muslim, wooists, or any others...ALL need to remember that.

The gist of your many posts berating posters about this very issue leads me to conclude that for YOU, Tzaph, there are no such things as "FACTS" so we should probably just abandon the word altogether! That is a very out of the mainstream point of view. It epitomizes the word "Woo," IMO.

a. i don't take any post seriously that uses the word "woo."
b. because it demonstrates an inability to communicate concisely.
c. and the use of pejoratives is neither effective nor rational communication.
d. knowing the difference between facts, and opinions views beliefs interpretations, has nothing to do with "berating" or "insults." any more than knowing the difference between cars and fruit. a person knows the difference, or they don't.
but you are not stating facts.
you are stating your views, your opinions, your beliefs, and your interpretations.
Yes and with a good measure of woo.
To know the distinction and difference between facts and the rest requires discrimination. Discrimination comes out of knowledge.

a. I don't take any poster seriously who seems to always be attracted to a "woo" explanation of things.
b. "woo" as used here does have a concise definition, which has been shared in the past. but once again: according to Merriam-Webster: "dubiously or outlandishly mystical, supernatural, or unscientific"
c. yes, there can be words that are pejorative. but treating other posters with contempt who do not share one's spiritual beliefs is also pejorative: "expressing contempt or disapproval
d. holding a mirror up to oneself is another good example of knowing the difference or not between respecting others and their viewpoints

Your colleague will not take your post seriously since you used the term "woo".

3 letters, 1 syllable is not concise?

So "1 + 1 = 2, you idiot" is not rational?
